Tamar Eluned Williams tells stories in Welsh and English. She shares and creates stories around the world, in festivals, schools, theatres and museums. She is a creative practitioner for the Arts Council of Wales and one half of the Greenbank Hags, who curate and produce STORYPUB.
Tamar trained in theatre and worked as a director and drama practitioner before becoming a full-time storyteller. She now travels around the world telling the myths and legends of Wales and, in between, works in the Welsh Valleys using stories to build creativity, aspirations and confidence. She believes that storytelling should be for everyone, and that stories are indispensable in building a healthy world. Since 2019, Tamar has also worked as the Engagement Coordinator for Beyond the Border International Storytelling Festival, reaching out to communities across Wales and discovering new ways of using storytelling to create lasting connections.
Her previous performances have included Green Man Festival, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Alden Biesen Storytelling Festival (Belgium), Settle Stories Festival, Towersey Folk Festival and Beyond the Border.
Tamar was awarded the Gwobr Esyllt Harker Award by Beyond the Border in 2016 and the national Young Storyteller of the Year Award in 2013.
