Jo Henwood officially became a Storyteller at the end of 1999 when she joined the NSW Storytelling Guild. She was Accredited as a Storyteller a few years later and at various times has been President, Vice President and Accreditation Officer of the Guild.

However, the truth is that she has always been giver and receiver of stories throughout her life – as a Tour Guide, Museum Education Officer, Librarian, museum theatre creative, child care worker, workshop leader and public speaker on literature, history, creative writing, intangible culture, and of course, storytelling.

She has a Master of Cultural Heritage, a degree in library science, and post graduate qualifications in museum studies, tour guiding, and gifted education.  She has performed in Europe and Asia as well as Australia, in conferences, schools, and festivals.

Jo is co-founder of the Australian Fairy Tale Society  , coordinates the annual World Storytelling Day event in Sydney , and is member of the Epic Storytellers troupe that perform The Ramayana
