Paul Cookson has been a poet for thirty years and visited thousands of schools and festivals all over the world. His performances are always memorable, interactive, fun and thoughtful. Something for everyone.
He has numerous collections of his own available including current titles There’s A Crocodile In The House, Joke Shop and The Very Best Of. He also has edited over 40 titles, including the best selling The Works, and has sold in excess of a million books.
For over ten years he has been the Poet In Residence for The National Football Museum, based in Manchester. Also, he is Poet for Everton In The Community and was commissioned by Everton Football Club to write the poem “Home”.
He writes poems for grown ups too and is the Poet Laureate for Slade ( rock group form the 70s ).
He is currently collaborating on a songwriting project involving a variety of songwriters – including Miles Hunt ( The Wonder Stuff ), Henry Priestman ( The Christians ), Stan Cullimore ( The Housemartins ), Brooks Williams, Les Glover and many others.
With Les Glover he is part of Don Powell’s Occasional Flames. Don is the drummer from Slade. They have written various songs together and have several downloads available and an album too.
