Maria is a storyteller, artist, dancer and scientist based in Lichfield, England. She has had a varied
career, from Banking to Zoology, with quite a lot of interesting things in between, including teaching
belly dancing, learning to play the harp, running science clubs, art classes, and renovating an old
gypsy caravan. The Covid19 situation has put a temporary stop to all that.
Having discovered and immersed herself in the world of storytelling several years ago, Maria now takes
traditional tales and makes them her own, breathing life into characters and taking the listener on
journeys of magic and myth. She has been invited to tell at story clubs up and down the UK, including
Word of Mouth and Sting in the Tale in Manchester, Lichfield Storytellers, Once upon a Wednesday in
Burton, Stafford Knot and Matlock Storytellers. She was recently invited to tell the main stage set of
the East Anglian Storytelling Festival 2020.
Maria has a warm and engaging style which is well suited to sharing story secrets with her audiences.
Her favourite stories are those that leave you feeling that all is well in the world, perhaps those are just the sort of stories we need at the moment.
