A truly diverse storyteller, David’s repertoire ranges from the truly ancient epics through Middle Eastern Sufi tales through Eastern European and Slavic folklore all the way down to his roots in Appalachia.  His historic telling has been acclaimed in both secondary school and higher education.  Somewhat of an eccentric obscurantist, you never know what he’ll tell next, unless – of course – he’s given specifics; but then you might have to hold on to your hat while he whisks you from the steppes of Mother Russia to the back hills of Appalachia or even to the Temple of Ishtar in ancient Babylon.  His motto is, “Children have storytellers; adults need them.
