Stéphanie Bénéteau grew up hearing stories in three languages. Her French-Canadian father told her stories of a bank robber and his dog, her American mother read to her every night, and the children in the Italian village where she grew up told her tales of the witch that lived at the end of the street. Her repertoire includes the medieval legend of Tristan and Iseult, Greek mythology, Arthurian legend and a wide range of traditional tales about girls and women. She tells in a lyrical voice enriched with a hint of saucy humor. She is also the director of the Montréal Intercultural Storytelling Festival.
