Rona Leventhal hails from the US and has been telling stories for 35 years to people ages 4 – 104, putting laughter in the belly and smiles in the hearts of listeners. Telling folktales and personal stories, as well as a few historical and original pieces, her telling is dynamic, engaging, evocative, humorous – often at the same time! One person said of Rona’s style, “Throughout the story I felt like I was watching a fully staged play with scenery and a cast.” Her performances have taken her from the stages at the National Storytelling Network, international venues, festivals, conferences, schools and libraries. Rona is a Teller of Tales, Teaching Artist, Workshop Leader, Improv Specialist, Coach and Organizational Consultant. Team building and outdoor and environmental education round out her work. Her CD, “Into the Dark: Stories From the Shadows” won the Gold Award from storytelling World and her book, and Spinning tales, Weaving Hope: Stories and activities for Peace, Justice and the Environment (Coeditor) won Storytelling World’s Honors Award. She is absolutely thrilled to be part of this spectacular Storytelling Festival for the second time!
