Max’s love for storytelling comes from being a long-term roleplaying fan. He enjoys creating and leading immersive and interactive stories within a growing roleplay community. Working with a group called ‘Dragon Legion’ he has helped teenagers and young adults connect across borders. Creating stories to explore each other’s mythologies and cultures in exciting adventures where the participants take on characters and have the opportunity to become heroes and heroines within a particular mythos.
Max is also a practitioner of Western Mystery Traditions, he lives in Glastonbury in the south-west of England where he organises private rituals and community seasonal celebrations. Since 2012, he has been part of a magical working group leading ceremonies at Glastonbury Music Festival of Performing Arts. Here he has had the privilege to work with spiritual elders from other faiths, sharing stories and inspiration.
Together with Lisa Goodwin, Max teaches courses and workshops using inner landscape work and guided stories, designed to unlock key archetypes that exist within all of us. Using a process of inner journeying and telling mythic hero quests, enabling participants to access the deep magic held in our collective world stories to facilitate social and emotional healing.
In the last few years, as their children grew to adults, Max and Lisa have started to visit holy and sacred places around the world learning about the living mythology of faiths and cultures that they meet.
