Daniel has been telling traditional stories for a living since 1989. He has performed everywhere you can think of- schools, theatres, festivals, universities, village halls, churches, museums, hospitals, offices, prisons, parks, palaces…he can tell a huge range of tales, from awful jokes to awesome fibs, from poignant myths to thrilling adventures. Whatever he chooses to tell, he does so with passion and relish.
His storytelling has taken him from the Arctic to Australia, via Haiti and Hawaii, and from Broadway to the National Theatre and the Albert Hall.
In 2017 he was awarded The Hay Festival Medal for his services to Drama. His books DARK TALES FROM THE WOODS and TREE OF LEAF AND FLAME both won the Tir nan-Og Prize.
For World Storytelling Cafe he shares some of his favourite stories for families.
“To experience Daniel Morden in full flight is an amazing thing. He combines the skills of the Troubadour, the actor, the bard, the standup comedian and the preacher in the pulpit. One of the UK’s greatest storytellers.” IAN MCMILLAN, RADIO 3
