Amanda Eke is a Nigerian American Spoken-Word Poet, Artist, Film-Maker,
Educator, and Journalist. Despite being unable to read until age 7, she has made a significant impact in storytelling, earning awards like the Fulbright Fellowship and a United Nations Artistry Award. In 2024, she was honored as ‘Changing the Face
of Poetry’ by True Leaders Magazine and was also nominated for the 50 Pillars of Influence and Power Award by True Leaders Magazine.
In 2024, Amanda launched her TV show, ‘The Poet Speaks with Amanda Eke,’ on The Archaeology Channel and Roku, where she explores spoken word poetry’s history and modern practice.
Her acclaimed poetry workshop series and podcast, ‘The Poet Speaks,’ have reached global audiences, with the podcast being named a ‘Top 5 Podcast by Black Creators’ in 2022.
